Iron and Wine Download, The Trapeze Swinger

Forgive my gushing, but you’ll see what I mean when you step into the groove of The Trapeze Singer – it’s immediate immersion in a heavenly musical ocean featuring Sam Beam’s luxurious voice, amazing harmonies, killer production, percussion and drum sounds to drool over…a full complement. After 9 1/2 minutes, you can’t possibly imagine living without this.

That’s the extra-good news: you don’t have to. First, download the song and listen (with headphones, please); second, preorder Iron and Wine’s upcoming album, Around the Well (SubPop, 5/19/09) – 2 CDs or 3LPs of rare tracks ranging from out-of-print to never-before-released luscious goodness.

The album comes in two parts. The first half of the songs are unedited, raw home recordings. The second half were laid down in studios with the help of friends.
