Heavy and grungy, shot full of deeply infectious hooks and grooves, The May Fire bursts out flaming hot rock-and-roll topped by a punk female vocalist. They’re like Baked Alaska set to fire and tromped upon by a sassy and volatile maraschino cherry. Who gets to be the ice cream, the cake, and the meringue is up to those guys.
Of course the band is charged with strong personality and expert musicianship. El Pipe’s in charge, interesting, precise and steady with perfection on the drums as the foundation for The May Fire’s songs. Rob quietly digs deep on bass. Johnny Beane’s outta control on guitar. These three set an intense scene for Cat Tasso to angrily prance, pout and do her thing on vocals and guitar. At first listen, Tasso may come as a vocal surprise on this hard hitting rock, but don’t be fooled – she’s just as tough as the boys she likes to play with and requires nothing less than such fervent wolves as company.
