BiRd-BrAiNs is substantially rad. This girl’s outta control over-the-top knowing no boundaries and souled in a deep funky root. Of the eclectic bunch of tunes, Hatari stands out brightly showcasing Garbus’ innate groove and amazingly hearty voice. News, light and peppy, hits humorously dead-on – a playfully empowering anthem. Plush ukelele decorates what turns into a lurk-rap Safety. Listening now, I can’t get enough. Thank you, world, for making Merrill Garbus a beautifully fearless artiste.
