40 Day Dream [mp3]

It feels like acid’s just been invented. We are one, united in truth and goodness. Rolling like Jesus – the man, with his family of a dozen or so, Edward Sharpe (formerly Ima Robot’s Alex Ebert) is being watched, and he seems to be comfortable with that. His group re-embarks on wild 60s psychedelia with dramatic, artsy videos (check one out below…you really have to see them to appreciate where they’re coming from – just a listen won’t suffice). Live, they serve up refuge, family, love and a feel-good vibe….all for an audience. The group harks back to Ram Dass all lit from his intensive Harvard research endeavors and subsequent time spent with guru Neem Karoli Baba. There’s a similar drive to share healing transformation and the general message, Sub Ek (All is One), here through the universal expression of music. May Ed Sharpe and his buddies attain Utopia.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros‘ debut album, Up From Below will be available through Rough Trade 8/31/09. Buy digital HERE now.Maharaj-ji, Neem Karoli Baba
