Mark Your Calendars, Grab a Ticket, Pack Your Bags – Monolith Festival is coming up!

by Landry on August 13, 2009

The 3rd annual Monolith Festival is coming atcha. And soon. Hosted in an incomparable venue – nature’s perfectly sculpted outdoor amphitheater, Red Rocks, in Morrison, CO (just outside Denver) – Monolith Festival 2009 will bring 60+ of the hottest indie bands together with about 10,000 fans in this stunningly unparalleled setting, amidst rattlesnakes, scrub jays and enormous protrusions of red sandstone… rock.

I was heartbroken when I heard that Chief Hosa Campground, a sweet little slice of woodland history, is no longer available for concert camping, but there are some nearby sites where you can pitch a tent, or you could always go the modern, indoor plumbing route and grab a hotel room.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot – it goes down on the weekend of September 12th and 13th. Buy tickets HERE. If you order today, you’ll spare yourself the hike to the next level of pricing, which kicks in tomorrow. General admission or VIP. There’s not a single subpar seat in the joint.

Here’s the current confirmed lineup: The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Walkmen, Phoenix, Of Montreal, Method Man and Redman, OK GO, Passion Pit, DOOM, Health, Girl Talk, M. Ward, The Dandy Warhols, Miniature Tigers, Monotonix, Frightened Rabbit, Starfucker, Thunderheist, MSTRKRFT, These United States, Harlem Shakes, Woodhands, Thao with The Get Down Stay Down, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Twilight Sad, The Antlers, Viva Voce, The Answering Machine, Deer Tick, The Thermals, Cymbals Eat Guitars, We Were Promised Jetpacks, Lydia, Generationals, The Grates, Spindrift, Wendy Darling, Cotton Jones, Jim McTunan & The Kids That Killed The Man, FIR_E!, Beats Antique, Gregory Alan Isakove, Speakeasy Tiger, Savoy and The Pirate Signal, Danielle Ate the Sandwich, The Glitch Mob, Tigercity, Avi Buffalo, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Thermals and Thao, Rachel Goodrich, French Horn Rebellion, Rahzel, The Love Language, Stars of Track & Field, Anni Rossi, The Depreciation Guild, Sugar & Gold (Kick-Off), Hot Tub (Kick Off) and Royal Bangs
