Courtney Jones’ warm, clear voice has consistently evoked comparisons to Sarah McLachlan. As a piano-playing pop singer, Jones easily conjures Sara Bareilles. While Jones’ timeless sound continues to resonate fully in her newest release, All the Things That Fall (co-written and produced by Peter Malick), the depth and intensity of her latest dozen, cleverly cerebral, folk-pop jewels now evoke quick comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Carole King. Jones’ mature angst belies her young years, recent marriage, and new motherhood.
Courtney is equally engaging solo in a small room – she’s no stranger to LA’s Hotel Café, and backed by a band at a large venue. She’s opened for the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Missy Higgins, Kenny Loggins, Edwin McCain, Bitter:Sweet, and The 88, as well as shared the bill with Joshua Radin, Anna Nalick, and Augustana. Jones is featured on dozens of YouTube cover videos.
Courtney’s first album was a featured iTunes release. Weightless, the A-Cappella track from her debut, has had numerous placements, including NBC’s Law and Order, Parenthood and the closing montage of CBS’ Flashpoint series.
Courtney Jones’ All The Things That Fall (out July 16th, 2013) is a highlight of the Luxury Wafers Fresh label launch.
