UUVVWWZ - C'mon and say it with me! Jap Dad, Shark Suit mp3s

Another fantastically kooky Nebraska band, UUVVWWZ (yes, go over there, to the left, that's right, click on the picture and, step-by-step, virtually leaf through the pronunciation guide) just does it, crisp and clear. At first the bouncy energy and Teal's attractive voice suggest the character of songs that could be fit for children. That suggestion rapidly flees, however, as the freak edge of punk and clownlike scariness assert themselves. Perhaps best to shield the little ones, after all. Take in small doses as guilty pleasure.
The band's self-titled CD came out 7/7/09 on Saddle Creek.
